A Warning and a Question

The warning:

Most of you probably are aware but wanted to share my experience so everyone's aware.

I recently got an email from a company called PicRights regarding an image that was on my website. For the uninitiated, they are a company that sends bots out across the internet to find copyrighted images of their clients. If they find an image (let's say Getty), they'll send you a letter saying basically 'unless you have a license for this image, you owe $XXX.XX to us on behalf of our client. Otherwise, we refer this matter to our law fim.'

Yikes.

Years ago, I did a screenshot of an image and put it in my blog and forgot about it. Well, I remembered pretty quickly when I received that email from PicRights.

My lawyer is talking them down on the $ and I'll have to pay a fee, unfortunately.

I just wanted to remind/make aware/warn anyone to be careful about what images you use.

OR THE BOTS'LL GET YA!

The question:

I've cleaned any copyright images off the site and only use ones I get from stock image sites but was wondering if there's a service or plugin that can scan your site to make sure you're 'all clear' when it comes to images? Or any copyright material.

Is there such a thing?

Thanks and good luck!
