MAMP Pro and Safari

I really enjoyed Joe's training this past Wednesday on using MAMP to publish sites locally. So I gave it a try. It really is super fast (and it is a way to deal with the annoying Dreamhost timeouts when you rapidly make multiple changes).

But I have a problem. No matter what I do, Safari does not see the local site. Every other browser sees the local site, and if I turn off MAMP Pro's web server, every other browser sees the version online. When I turn MAMP Pro's server back on, all other browsers again see the local version but Safari still will only load the online version. Using http or https does not matter, and I've configured the ports and set the IP address, etc. in MAMP.

It's not a huge problem, but I would still like to know why it is happening and how to fix it.
