I’ve been using a VPS with DreamHost for several years, which has served me well with ample storage, RAM, and unlimited traffic. Initially, DreamHost offered a seamless one-click integration with Cloudflare, but this feature was discontinued a while ago. Now, I’ve learned that DreamHost’s partnership with Cloudflare is ending entirely in a few weeks.
This change necessitates a decision: either to discontinue using Cloudflare or to manually point my domain’s Name Servers to Cloudflare and reconfigure the settings to link back to my VPS. Considering I manage multiple websites, this could be a significant undertaking.
I’m reaching out for your recommendations and insights on whether it’s worth the effort to maintain Cloudflare independently, or if I should consider other alternatives. For what it's worth, all of my sites on Cloudflare are on the free plan; I've looked at the cost-benefit, but don't see the value of $240/year per-site (times several dozen sites). Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
